LoneStar Support is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including caregivers and visitors who use assistive technology. We design with care for keyboard users, screen-reader users, and people who need larger text, captions, or reduced motion.
Conformance target
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We use semantic HTML, descriptive link text, alt text on meaningful images, visible focus states, and color contrast that meets or exceeds the AA threshold for body copy.
What we’ve done
- A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the navigation.
- Landmark roles (
banner, main, contentinfo) so assistive tech can navigate by region. - Visible focus rings on links, buttons, and form fields.
- Form labels associated with their inputs, and required fields marked with
aria-required. - Decorative images marked
aria-hiddenand meaningful images given descriptive alt text. - A color palette tested for AA contrast on body copy.
Known limitations
We are honest about where we still have work to do:
- The three embedded tools on our Tools page (a breathing rhythm guide, a feelings wheel, and a printable belief-agreement generator) are adapted from third-party open-source projects. They have not been independently audited for WCAG 2.2 AA, and some interactions (for example, the spinnable feelings wheel) may not be fully equivalent for users of every assistive technology. We will keep improving these and welcome reports.
- Some visual decorative elements rely on motion. If you prefer reduced motion, your operating system’s Reduce motion setting is honored where possible.
- This site uses Tailwind CSS via CDN. If you experience styling issues with browser extensions that block third-party CDNs, contact us and we’ll help.
Reporting an issue or requesting an alternative format
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, or if you would like content provided in an alternative format (large print, plain text, audio), please email help@lonestarsupport.org with:
- The page or feature you were trying to use (a URL helps).
- What happened and what you expected to happen.
- The assistive technology, browser, or operating system you are using, if you are comfortable sharing.
We aim to respond within five business days and to fix priority issues within thirty days where feasible.
