LoneStar Support (“LoneStar Support,” “we,” or “us”) is a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit lonestarsupport.org, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect very little, and we never sell your information.

Who we are

LoneStar Support is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving families raising children with special needs. EIN: TBD. You can reach us any time at help@lonestarsupport.org.

What we collect, and how

We collect three categories of information, all of which you choose to share with us:

How we use what we collect

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles. We do not share donor lists with other organizations.

Service providers we use

A small number of third-party services help us run this site:

Each of these vendors operates under its own privacy policy and applicable data-processing agreements.

Tools embedded on our site

Our Tools page embeds three small static utilities (a breathing rhythm guide, a feelings wheel, and a printable belief-agreement generator). All three run entirely in your browser. Your inputs to these tools, including any agreement text you type or sign, do not leave your device. We do not see, store, or transmit anything you enter into them.

Cookies and tracking

As of the date above, this site does not set advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. Our static site uses only essential storage that browsers handle automatically. If we add analytics cookies later, this section will be updated and we will add an in-page notice.

Children’s privacy

Our site is intended for adult caregivers, family members, volunteers, and donors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, please contact help@lonestarsupport.org and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, or to opt out of further communications. We will respond within a reasonable time and at no charge. To make a request, email help@lonestarsupport.org.

If you live in California: You have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: You have the rights provided by the GDPR or UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to object to processing. Our lawful basis for processing the limited information described above is your consent (when you contact or donate to us) and our legitimate interest in operating a small nonprofit website.

How long we keep information

We keep correspondence and donor records only as long as we need them for the purpose collected, or as required by U.S. tax and nonprofit recordkeeping rules. Donor records typically follow the IRS retention guidelines for charitable contributions.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. Donations are processed over encrypted connections by Stripe, and our site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page or in a banner for a reasonable period.
