These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your visit to lonestarsupport.org and your use of the materials and tools we publish. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Educational content only—not professional advice
Everything on this site, including the embedded tools on our Tools page, is provided for general education and reflection. It is not:
- Medical advice or a substitute for medical care. Our breathing tool, our feelings wheel, and any wellness content on the site are not diagnostic or therapeutic. Talk to a licensed clinician for any health concern.
- Mental-health treatment or therapy. Our coaching program is peer-style support. Coaches are trained volunteers, not licensed therapists, psychologists, social workers, or case managers. Coaching is not a substitute for professional mental-health care.
- Legal advice or a binding agreement. The “Belief Agreement Generator” on our Tools page produces a printable PDF for personal reflection and conversation. The PDF is not a contract, is not legally enforceable, and creates no rights, duties, or obligations between any parties. Talk to a lawyer for anything you need a legal agreement for.
Coaching and volunteer program
LoneStar Support pairs caregivers with trained volunteer relationship coaches for conversation-based, peer-style support. Coaches do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide therapy. Participation is voluntary. We may decline or end a match at any time if we believe it is not a healthy fit. If you need clinical care, we will encourage you to seek it from a licensed provider.
Acceptable use
When you use this site, you agree not to:
- Use it for unlawful, harassing, deceptive, or harmful purposes.
- Attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access, or otherwise interfere with the site’s operation.
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically download content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with LoneStar Support.
Intellectual property
The text, graphics, imagery, and original code on this site are the property of LoneStar Support or our licensors and are protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. You may view, print, and share materials for personal, noncommercial use, with attribution to LoneStar Support.
The embedded tools on our Tools page are adapted from open-source projects. Attribution and provenance are documented in our repository:
- The breathing tool is adapted from breath4me.github.io.
- The feelings wheel is adapted from feelingswheel.com, with original artwork by Geoffrey Roberts and rotation interaction by Lily Smith.
- The belief-agreement generator is adapted from agree4me.com and bundles the open-source libraries signature_pad and html2pdf.js (both MIT-licensed).
Donations
Donations are processed by Stripe and are governed by our Privacy Policy and the disclosures on the Donate page. LoneStar Support is a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit; donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by U.S. law.

This site links to third-party sites and services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or operation of any site we don’t control.
No warranty
THE SITE AND TOOLS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LONESTAR SUPPORT, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR TOOLS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE OR TOOLS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LoneStar Support and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the site or tools, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any donation-page disclosures, are the entire agreement between you and LoneStar Support concerning the site.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page or in a banner for a reasonable period.
